Model Building

Another Ship Model That Isn't a Ship

Finally picked a model kit up off Amazon.jp for a reasonable price (and then the next month they bought it over to their local store page the bastards 😅) that I'd seen someone's reddit snaps of and wanted to try my own hand at...

Mayra's Warship, some fantasy vessel from an anime  popular in China (Throne of Elves, Google says), I don't really know the details I just saw the model and thought, hey, I'd really like to build that. And I did! took me four hours, start to finish, on the dot.

Worth it.

The spiky bits and getting the decorative panels onto the ide of the hull were very tricky, especially those golden swag/valance parts on the hull rails, they had to be hooked on at one end and like, twisted around to attach at the other, so you could make the right angles to get both tabs to slot in. Cue a little bit of swearing.

I do just love the style of it though, such a strong aesthetic to it! And a nice, one session build too, it was very therapeutic. I should get back to the submarine model at some point. Y'know, at some point. Some day. Eventually.
