Pantlaza, Sun-Favored - Decklist

I

have a dino deck. It is full of big, mean dinosaurs. I like stomping people with them, if they'll let me get at them with sufficient dino-power that is.

I am admittedly weak to things like Propaganda with this deck, but I don't really care. It's fun to play!

As with my Wolverine deck, I'm listing out the Death by Dinosaurs deck contents here so I can remember what's in it and why you can see what's cooking.

Gishath - I have the Sun's Avatar card in the deck and it's always fun to play Good Ol' Gish and flood the field with dinos

This is all about Dinosaurs, making them easier to get on the field, smacking haste and trample on everything, and then obliterating someone with a horde of giant, stompy bastards sent straight at them.

Quick abbreviations: Comm. = Commander, creat. = creature, opp. = opponent, ench. = enchantment, sac. = sacrifice

Struck-through cards have been removed, they're still here as reference and in case I need to swap them back in.

Italicised cards are something I still need to find/buy, but they're planned for inclusion in this deck.

That's 12 life, or three dead artifacts, if needed! Helps stop someone from bringing pirates cards back from his graveyard too 😎

73 Huatli, Poet of Unity Creature Land, tokens, abilities

Fetch basic to hand on entry.

Pay and 2/ for a saga that gives token dinos, a tap for , or , or fetches a dino, or gives dinos double strike and trample

74 Majestic Helipterous Creature Flying, ability

Flying, and gives another attacking dino flying for turn too! So two dinosaurs going over the top!

75 Bronzebeak Foragers Creature Removal On entry, exile one permanent from each opponent until Bronzebeaks leave the field. Can pay exiled card's mana value plus to get that mana value in life and put card into owner's graveyard properly Not much good against recursion decks, that last bit. But great at sitting on people's lynchpin cards!
76 Forerunner of the Empire Creature Tutor, damage

On entry, search for a dino card, reveal and top deck it

On any dino entering, MAY deal 1 damage to each creat. on table

82 Zilortha, Strength Incarnate Creature Trample, buff

Trample

Lethal damage to my creat. determined by their P not the T value. Sucks for anyone hoping that all my attack-heavy creat. were basically a glass artillery detachment. Now they're tough as steel!

83 Agonasaur Rex Creature Trample, counters, abilities

8/8 w/trample 

Can discard and draw for and then give two +1/+1 counters and indestructible and trample for turn to one creat.

Mostly a big stompy but also emergency discard for protection

84 Gigantosaurus Creature Prettiful, chompy

Full. Art. Dinosaur.

Costs , but such a pretty 10/10 dino card. Worth it.

Vigilance, trample

Other dinos get +1/+1, vigilance and trample

Has some fancy ability to get flying dino tokens but who cares about that, I want the vigilance + trample for 24/7 unstoppable dino horde fun

86 Etali, Primal Storm Creature Vercast

On attack, exiles top of each player's deck - can then cast exiled cards for free

Once exiled someone's boardwipe, played protection for myself and wiped everyone else. I'm nice like that.

87 Ravenous Tyrannosaurus Creature Super-trample

On entry, sac up to three creat. for 3 +1/+1 counters for each sacced creat.

On attack, also deals damage to one other creat. and excess damage to that creat.'s owner.

Super trample. Sac a few tokens on entry and it's a 15/15, attack someone with no creat. or only a weak one, and you can do like, 10 to 15 damage to an opp.'s face.

That'll leave a mark.

88 Kolga and Yidaro Creature Trample, removal

On entry, gains trample and haste, or fights target creat.

Discard and to destroy target arti. or ench., then shuffle Kolga into library and draw a card Discard, shuffle, find it again - rinse, repeat? If only I had enough tutors for that!

89 Spider-Rex, Daring Dino Creature Reach, trample Reach, trample, ward
90 Etali, Primal Conqueror Creature Vercast, poison

Trample

On entry, all players exile cards until a non-land. Etali can then cast any of these for free

For 9, goes to 11/11 w/trample and indestructible that gives poison counters upon player combat damage. 10 poison is means defeat, so a full Etali, Primal Sickness to the face is a dead loss.

It's effectively a 24/7, persistent 8/8 pain in the ass. Well, it's only a pain for everyone else! 

95 Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant Creature Vercast

On entry, put any creat. from hand to field.

This 12/12 trample brings all the other dinos to the yard Why spend here and there for one or two dinos, when 8 mana here casts allll your dinos?! Ghalta #3 is the best 🥰

96 Gishath, Sun's Avatar Creature Vercast

On combat damage to a player, reveal that many cards from top deck, place any dinos onto field and the rest at the bottom

Oh, and it's a 9/9 w/vigilance, trample and haste

97 Zacama, Primal Calamity Creature Over-the-top, removal, damage, life

If cast, untap all lands after.

Whenever Poly is dealt damage, create a token copy of Poly.

It's 6, but by Gishath, it's a fun 8-drop. Hey, where did that Forerunner's 1 damage go, again? Oh, yeah. Here. For all the Polys.

99 Huatli, Dinosaur Knight Planeswalker

Counters, boost

2x +1/+1 counters on target dino, target dino deals damage to other creat., or all dinos get +4/+4 for turn

Here to give extra chomp to go with the stomp

100 Pantlaza, Sun-favored Creature Dino-boss Brings all his big, looming thug friends along to the game to intimidate you. No honour, only dinosaur.

Other dinosaurs I have lying around that can be swapped into this deck if needed (most were in here previously, in fact): 

  • Thundering Spineback - 5 for 5/5, other dinos get +1/+1
  • Bonehoard Dracosaur - 3 for 5/5 flying first strike, dino token or treasure maker
  • Regal Behemoth - 4 for 5/5 trample, as Monarch all lands tap for an extra mana of any color
  • Runic Armasaur - 1 for 2/5, opponent activating non-mana abilities gives card draw
  • Titanoth Rex - 7 for 11/11 trample, 1 to discard and draw a card and give another creat. trample. Only not included atm while I see how the mana curve is working. 9 mana is a lot and it would be my most expensive dino cast in the deck
  • Flaming Tyrannosaurus
  • Balamb T-Rexaur
  • Palani's Hathcer
  • Swooping Pteranodon
  • Dinosaur Egg
  • Displaced Dinosaurs - turns all historic permanents (sagas, artifacts and legendaries) into 7/7 dinos! Nice but it's a mandatory replacement effect and I like my Ghaltas and Etalis to stay bigger than 7/7 so ditched for now :/
