Octopii? Octopodes?

Eh, who cares. I don't need the plural, I'm only making one.
The pattern is from here, and believe me when I say it turns out cute af every. Damn. Time.
I've made one or two, or is it three? before, and they work up real nice and quick but still look adorable. Especially since I like to make them using fuzzy and soft yarns like Bernat Blanket or Velvet. (Or, say, the Aldi own-brand equivalents 😋.)
I'm currently carrying out a little experiment in using two yarns at once on the hook to make a bigger amigurumi but without needing to find a chunkier yarn. Since, y'know, super chunky velvet type yarns are hard to find an expensive but normal velvet yarns show up in Aldi and places quite often these days.
I'm using a deep rose pink sort of colour with a scarlet yarn so it looks really deep and rich with strong colours but without being obnoxiously bright or garish.
It's (if it turns out alright) for my mum's friend's baby. Well, not for the baby to have immediately as I'm not using a baby-safe yarn and i have no idea how to make a baby-safe toy but I guess it can be decorative until baby is a little older? Or something. I'll leave it to the parents to figure out the specifics but I figured it'd be a nice little gift either way.
