Cross Stitch

Ruby Ruby Rubyyy

So I mentioned I'd been dragged away from FFXIV by some stitching, and aside from the ship that shall not be named, I meant two little travel projects that needed finishing, washing and ironing etc. and also the companion piece to something my friend stitched. As often is the case, they linked me to a sale on that pattern maker's Etsy page and I caved and bought the one they damn well knew I wouldn't be able to resist.

My two travel projects just needed the finishing touches, and the mini-Napoleon ended up getting a proper framing job from yours truly and was given away as a cheeky little surprise gift.

My ruby dragon took much longer, for obvious reasons. Unfortunately I can't take a photo that shows the green and pink dye of the fabric, so please take my word that this little beauty is stitched on a hand dyed fabric and the red stands out nicely but still makes for an overall nature-y, spring colours kind of look.

The back is an absolute mess, and there's a bit of a hoop mark that I just could not for the life of me get off but I'm pleased with how Ruby turned out!

I'm still deciding whether or not to frame it... It's so pretty but I only have so much wall space!
