FFXIV

The Boy is Back in Town

Recently, I've been back on my bullshit in a big way.

And we all know, because it's bloody obvious from this entire website, that 'back on my bullshit' means back into FFXIV. I ascended and levelled everything I wanted to in Genshin, cleared Abyss and Theatre, the events, and promptly lost interest because who really enjoys daily domains for talent materials that much? Not to mention being locked out of max level talents by weekly boss drops and no dream solvent. Infuriating. And so, having some time, not wanting to start a new TV show or anything, I logged back into FFXIV.

Let loose the hounds of war obsession.

I have in the past couple of weeks taken all my crafters from level 90 to 100. I maxed my botanist, then my miner. I've got VPR and PCT up to 90+, finally maxed each EW zone's Shared FATE level. I've brought WHM, DNC and DRK up to 100 and worked through all the role quests, plus the cap quest chain after.

I've cleared all the first tier of normal raids, and I actually enjoy M2N! Honey B. is fun to fight. Little Miss Lightning Death Cannon not so much. I struggle a little with that one still. But I got my Queztali weapon for RDM anyway. Jeuno is still fraught for me too, but I'm getting there. Turns out memorisation bosses and me are not a great mix but I am improving. I think. I hope. I need so many coins from there for gear upgrades 😭.

I scraped the gil together and got my fancy pink air bike from Solution Nine, now I just need to save up for the car to go with it.

I am working on my rep with the Pelupelu with their Turali Tourism Agency, which has been quite a cute little mercantile endeavour. I've now done all the Wachumeqimeqi quests for everything but FSH (and damn if the BTN/MIN ones weren't emotional, that poor guy) so they love me already.

While I was at it, I also did the little sidequest line for the Cornservant. I knew people seemed to like the little fellow, but had zero expectations going into the first quest. The chain was short, but sweet, both in terms of quality on content and also in theme. A nice little pun about Dawn/Corn, a little recap of the different regions and some of their cuisine-related and societal quirks and a nice dose of being a helpful hero to normal folks and not just a monster-crushing, blunt-force WMD.

Plus, the little Cornservant minion at the end was nice. Although, I say the end, patch 7.2 brings with it an additional Cornservant quest so maybe there will be more of this little deity of delicious delight going forward through Dawntrail, who knows? (Corn on the Cob emote, anyone?)

Today being the release of Patch 7.2, I'm now off to try the next raid tier, I think the storyline has legs and the encounter design has been very fun so looking forward to some thrills there!

Catch me also getting geared up for the April patch for the new Cosmic Exploration, I'll see y'all on the moon!
