Through Hellfire and... Roseblood?

I did P4S unsync on Saturday.

I've never done a Savage fight that wasn't like, 40 levels below me and therefore a solo unsync walk in the park. Now, P4S is only ten levels lower than me, and even with the big ilvl between when it released and now when we're all at about 730+, you can't ignore the mechs.

I tried with one group on Friday evening and because two people just could not get one mechanic done correctly, we never cleared despite two hours of progging. Suffice to say, Saturday, none of those people were in the group; I went out of my way to avoid the PFs that did pop up for P4S again just because I recognised the leader's name. Eventually though, I had left a Cloud Deck farm party and saw a new name in PF for P4S and wouldn't you know, Maple was an excellent leader and made a real effort to properly explain what we needed to do (along with Hiken) to get our first clear.

Phase 1 was definitely still a piece of piss, just give or grab a tether if you were/weren't just bloodraked and voilá, done. 50% HP, phase change. We never actually saw beyond the arena change for Pinax, none of the actual mechanics there had time to proc, they just never happened.

Phase 2 was where we actually had to prog the fight as the towers/AoE combo of Act 1 has to be done perfectly in order to have enough DPS to skip the rest of the Akanthai Acts and just faceroll through with burst DPS to get the kill in time. That took a good while, but we made it! And then immediately made another 6 clears to get everyone the mount and the minion as needed etc. although I suspect we had some glam farmers in there too (me, I was also after the Aspho rapier and scythe) because those weapons really do have unique looks and they even dye well too! Inspired by this, I spent Sunday progging Recollection Ex, I had to data centre travel to Light to do it, and wound up in a party of 7 other Chaos data centre players. Dude, why not just stay on Chaos then?! But the party were great, we went from the very start all the way through three lockouts to get to Roseblood Bloom 5 and Eschelon's Fall 3 and were moving through to Roseblood 6. The late hour caught up with us, especially given it was a work night, but it was a great experience.

For my first time really progging a fight properly, I could not have had a better experience than I have had so far with EX4, I'm half looking forward to grinding for those wings soon please soon please I need the red wings and maybe some ilvl 745 weapons too!
